Business news for the week of September 13, 2010 For 25 years Catherine and Dennis Moore ran Dennis Moore Auto Repair at 1573 Moore Drive, just one road North of Kawartha Downs. When Dennis passed away Catherine continued on for several years, but recently decided to switch gears and open a completely new business in the same location. Bridget Anastasia’s Gifts and Home Décor opened for business in July. Catherine has one of a kind copper, jewellery, wood carvings, gift cards, figurines and lots of home décor and accents such as lamps, vases, paintings, nesting tables and small furniture. There’s too much to list and it’s only ten minutes from town, so pop in Wednesday through Sunday or call 705-939-1769. Splash Pool and Spa Service opens their new retail operation in the Northcrest Plaza, at the Corner of Hilliard Street & Marina Blvd., Unit 4.  
The Nesting Place is a Toronto-based prenatal and doula care service, but Sheena Howard (pictured right) is bringing the Prenatal classes to Peterborough starting September 15. Called “Birthing from Within” the classes not only cover the “what to expects” for parents, but go deeper into the emotional and psychological preparation for birth and postpartum. The classes will be offered at the Kalico Healing Arts Centre.
