BREAKING: Police issue warning about released convict

March 06, 2013

Peterborough Lakefield Police have taken the unusual step in warning the public about a released Federal Inmate who is on his way to Peterborough.  23-year old Steven Edward Yearley had served time for Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Robbery, Uttering Threats, Escape Lawful Custody, and Break and Enter. Police say Yearley represents an overall high risk to re-offend in a sexual or violent manner. Such information about released prisoners is not normally given out but the police feel the safety of the public outweighs the need to maintain the person’s privacy.

Its just a matter of time before he breaches his conditions and gets locked back up again. Curvew, no association with crimnals, can't be around parks or trails, no alcohol or drugs. Highly unlikely his crimnal mentality changed in prison seeing as he didnt participate in any rehabilitation programs. Don't get me wrong people can change, but I think this one is a lost cause. My thoughts go out to the victim who has to serve a lifetime of psychological damage because of his actions. The part I don't get is how he escaped custody to steal a vehicle and break into 5 houses after the fact, did the officer fall alseep who was watching him? Do your job properly or hire someone else who will!!

It's not only letting him out to re-offend but it's letting him out to injure or possibly cause death to another innocent victim.. If they know he is high risk he should not have been released or at least released to a specific area of town that he cannot have run ins with anyone in general public!! It's just not fair to the outside world!!
